Your company name must be unique and distinguishable from other names in the Registrar of Companies in Ireland. Please note the following key rules:
Ignored Words: Numbers and common words like “services”, “business”, and “solutions” are often ignored by the CRO when determining uniqueness.
Unique Words: Distinguishable and unique words (e.g., “Everest”, “Kilimanjaro”, “Amazon”, “Dolphin”) are excellent for ensuring your name is accepted.
Place Names: These are generally ignored, but you can use the name of a river or mountain to help distinguish your name.
The word “Bank”: Using “Bank” requires special permission from the Central Bank of Ireland and is reserved for banking activities.
Words NOT considered distinguishable:
Business, Company, Corporate, Enterprise, Euro, World, Global, Ireland, Family, Dublin, Services, Developments, International, Networks, Solutions, Sales.
